The State Center project provides an interesting glimpse into the multi-disciplinary, collaborative nature of Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse (SBER) developments.  The project, located on Baltimore’s West Side,is defined by its diversity. This diversity is manifest in the master plan, which includes mixed-use space, mixed-income housing, and open public space supported by a true public transportation hub. It can also be seen in the project’s stakeholders which include the development partners, local institutions, public officials, civic organizations, and the surrounding communities.

The development itself is still in the planning stages. However, SBER had identified communication as paramount to the success of the development. Given the decentralized nature of the stakeholders, we tended to agree.

As such, the State Center online presence was developed less as a marketing tool and more of a community-focused project extranet…a platform for ongoing, evolving communication between stakeholders and the community at large. To this end, all of the content on the site has been and is currently developed by project stakeholders.
