The Software Quality Analyst is part of the Business Team and responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and software releases. The Software Quality Analyst works primarily with the Project Manager to understand requirements and create clear, concise detail-oriented test plans/cases to verify those requirements are being met throughout development cycles. In addition, the Software Quality Analyst will help in the creation of procedures and automated systems to streamline the quality assurance process.



  • BS or BA degree preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant QA technical experience
  • 3+ years large enterprise or e-business systems experience
  • Expertise in database testing in Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL Server environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procedures, jobs, triggers, and replication
  • Ability to understand and create test plans from specifications or verbal communications.


  • Create clear, concise detail oriented test plans/cases
  • Design, develop, and implement automated testing systems, and evaluate output
  • Communicate feature interaction problems and identify coding problems across the system
  • Write, implement, and document test cases to identify bugs and rewrite requirements
  • Conduct exploratory testing to evaluate robustness and functionality of products
  • Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables
  • Backend database testing in Microsoft SQL and MySQL environments including validating stored procs, jobs and triggers
  • Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan
    Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, and automated scripts
  • Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results
  • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements
  • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes
  • Managing Tier 3 Tickets for customer support
  • Liaison with development, project management, and customer support

Skills and Qualifications

  • Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure ability to write test plans and test cases as well as communicate bugs to developers and other stakeholders
  • Creative solving of technical problems – to ensure the ability to translate technical requirements test plans
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables – ensures the ability to find the bad defects and bugs quickly
  • Ability to think abstractly – to ensure ability to not conform to the norm. Norms do not find bugs quickly.
  • Experiences in Quality Management Software and Processes
  • Experience with Project Tracking and Management Software and Processes
  • Atlassian products preferred (e.g. JIRA, Confluence or Wiki)
  • Knowledge and experience in technical aspects of software solution being tested
  • Business process understanding
